Ethics in AI
Mindful of the ethical implications of modern AI and ML research, IFML partners with Good Systems, the UT Grand Challenge that designs AI technologies to benefit society. Together, we work to ensure that research innovation in human-machine partnerships address the needs and values of society.
Cultivating Fairness in AI
The alliance between IFML and Good Systems positions UT Austin to become a hub and training center for public interest technologists with special expertise in the responsible development of good systems that repair, reinforce, and advance our social fabric.
Ethics conversations are integrated into research, education, and outreach programs.
IFML and Good Systems also offer free, public Ethics in AI colloquia consisting of a presentation and discussion. The colloquia offer room for presentation and in-depth discussion with faculty and trainees from IFML and Good Systems. These meetings are used as springboards to develop and engage in collaborative research.
